Headwound
Project type
Immersive Theatre
Date
March 2016
Location
Te Manawa Art Gallery
Headwound was a puppetry performance installation piece performed at Te Manawa Gallery in Palmerston North in 2016.
It was performed in an army tent and used original music, puppetry, projection mapping, and live and virtual worlds to convey a story about a soldier who received a head wound in the trenches in 1916.
The story expands through a hundred years of technological development, taking in the scale of our 'advancement', the rewards of our 'victories' and the fragility of the human anatomy.
This project was made in collaboration with Susie Hawes, Luke Anderson, Angie Farrow and John Downie
